How to wear this look
Cue has some great dresses that may inspire you to wear this dynamic trend…. Or if it is a little too much you could grab these hot heels instead, from Wittner.
Trend Number 2 Stripes
As seen at: Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Philosophy, Alberta Ferretti and Dolce & Gabbana
How to wear it: Black/white or coloured combinations will be sure to set off your wardrobe with drama. It’s all about bold combinations for Spring. Layer stripe on stripe, or take it easy with a lined dress.
Note: the wider the stripe the wider you may appear.
Trend No 3: Ruffles
As seen at: Gucci, Balenciaga and Givenchy.
How to wear it:
Top by Charlie Brown and Dress by Noni B Ruffles truly make a statement this year with scale; the bigger the better. Frills work best on shirts, skirts or dresses…..try a ruffled sleeve on a simple T-shirt if you are not a lover of the frill.
Trend No 4: Bold Florals
As seen at: Brood, Paul & Joe, Moschino, Preen, Peter Som and Suno.
How to wear it: Florals are everywhere again, so if you are more of the feminine/romantic type then you will love what’s in the shops this spring.
Trend Number 5: Crop Tops
As seen at: Peter Som, Giulietta, Anthony Vaccarello, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Derek Lam.
How to wear it:
This is such a young look and only for women who have rocking abs like Rhianna or J-Lo. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Know what I mean?
Trend Number 6: Gladiator Heels
As seen at: Tom Ford, Giuseppe Zanotti, Versace and Altuzarra.
How to wear it:
White heels from Wittner, Black flats from diana ferrari Gladiator heels are back, but they’re more extreme than ever. Most versions lace up to your ankles–and for the sassy and sexy gal some go up to your thigh. So if you don’t want to get your diva on, try a more simple style like Jada Pinkett Smith.
Trend No 7: Global Prints
As seen at: Vera Wang, Altuzarra, Derek Lam, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Duro Olowu.
How to wear it:
Tunic from Charlie Brown
India, Asia, Africa. Take inspiration from world cultures to spruce up your spring wardrobe. Like florals, the more prints the better. If you’re unsure, rock a full on printed dress or match a top and and skirt like Solange.
Or you could go for a simpler look with a colourful shirt teamed with a great pair of jeans. How to breakdown the trends: If you see something you like but you’re not sure you can go all the way then just dabble with accessories; that way you can still play it safe and look current at the same time!
